FAQs

Do you cater for allergens?

We do not cater for allergens. All our products may contain nuts, peanuts, eggs, soy, milk and wheat. All our products contain allergen labelling.

Do you supply fondant?

No. I specialise in naked and buttercream cakes only.

Can you use fresh flowers on a cake?

Absolutely. However, some flowers are irritant or even toxic and not suitable for food contact. If you decide to choose your own flowers then it will be your responsibility to liaise with your florist to ensure your flowers are food safe. However, I do advise against this. Please remember that flowers are seasonal.

How far in advance should I order a cake?

We recommend that you give as much notice as possible. Ideally two month for celebration cakes and 2 to 3 weeks for cupcakes. But sometimes we can fit in last minute so don't hesitate to contact us.

Can you hold a date without paying a deposit?

No. To secure a cake booking in my diary a deposit is required. A £50 non-refundable deposit is required for all wedding cake bookings and £15 for all celebration cakes.

Do you have a shop?

No. We are a fully registered and insured home baking business based in the village of Thornton-in-Craven. We are not a shop and customers should only visit by appointment.

Can you deliver?

We only offer a delivery service for wedding cakes at venues within a 20 mile radius of BD23 3BL. Collection only for celebration cakes and cupcakes (by appointment only). All delivery charges are specific to the venue.

If I book a cake when will the final balance be due?

The full balance for wedding cake bookings shall be paid no later than 6 weeks prior to the wedding date. For celebration cakes final payment shall be made no later than day of collection.

I have seen a picture of a cake online. Can you copy this?

I can definitely use images of other cakes to get a feel for the different styles and elements you like, but I do not copy other cake designers cakes. Inspiration is everywhere and I love using my creativity to create unique edible pieces of art for my customers. Plus, do you really want a cake which is the same as someone else’s when you could have something designed completely unique for you?
